Campo de Ourique and Amoreiras: from charm to history

Campo de Ourique and Amoreiras are two typically residential neighborhoods with a strong commercial component, but those who visit them find, in addition to shopping, many reasons to come back.

With a flat morphology, the orthogonal streets of Campo de Ourique are full of convenience stores aimed at families. In the restaurants, the most typical spaces of the neighborhood coexist with bolder concepts that despite the “new style” have strong arguments to continue to feed the gastronomic charm of the area.

The renovated Mercado de Campo de Ourique, where the new respects the old, has a prominent place in the neighborhood. In addition to the food court, with many tapas and snacks, this space offers everything you would expect from a good market: butchers, fishmongers, florists, fruits and vegetables, cafes and bars.
In a neighborhood with tradition, history and culture are not neglected. One of the biggest references is Casa Fernando Pessoa.
Campo de Ourique is also an area of beautiful churches, large green spaces, such as Jardim da Parada, sports spaces and many schools. A neighborhood made to measure for the many families that live in it, but with strong attractions to attract tourists and other Lisbon residents. To get here, the trip on Tram 28 provides a unique experience.

Adjacent to Campo de Ourique, we find the Amoreiras area. Marked by the diversity of its buildings, where old buildings mix with contemporary styles. The Amoreiras Complex is the nerve center of this Alfacinha neighbourhood, giving it dynamism and vitality. It integrates offices, housing and Amoreiras Shopping Center, the first large shopping center in Lisbon. At its top, Amoreiras 360º Panoramic View offers one of the most beautiful settings in Lisbon.
History and culture also live in Amoreiras, where it is possible to visit the Arpad Szenes-Vieira da Silva Foundation and the Underground Galleries of the Águas Livres Aqueduct, both in Praça das Amoreiras, which houses a charming garden.
