A symbol of Lisbon and of Portugal in the world, this emblematic monument has been a UNESCO Heritage Site since 1983 and is an example of the finest example of Manueline architecture, with its various maritime motifs, which denote its construction during the reign of King Manuel I (1495-1521). Inside, it is worth climbing to the top floor to admire the incredible views over the Tejo, the Belém area and the South Bank.

Belém and Restelo

Belém, a place of memory, culture and beauty A walk through Belém is a journey through history, as this is the neighbourhood with the largest concentration of heritage sites and museums in the country. And not even the usual bustle of tourists circulating through its streets and gardens cancels out the tranquillity with which the Tejo on the horizon offers us in all its splendour.
