Tapada da Ajuda
Praças e Jardins / Ajuda
In this immense botanical park, which links Ajuda to Alcântara, with a long history dating back to the 17th century, when it was still "Tapada Real", there is no shortage of natural and architectural wonders. It even includes a botanical reserve that is internationally renowned for its unique forest of wild olive trees, as well as a universe of natural wonders - and, of course, vineyards. This park is also home to the Instituto Superior de Agronomia of the University of Lisbon, one of the largest and most qualified undergraduate and post-graduate schools of agricultural sciences. This vast open-air space is also an inviting place for events, leisure activities and the discovery of captivating places such as the Stone Amphitheatre, the Viewpoint, the Parada Garden, the Rugby Field, the Astronomy Observatory, the Exhibition Pavilion and the Lagoa Branca Auditorium, among others.
