Cafés e Pastelarias / Chiado
Fundada em 1868, Pastelaria Benard began as a famous and aristocratic tea house in the 19th century and remains, even today, one of the most emblematic cafés and restaurants in Lisbon. Its central location, in the center of Chiado, provides a good vantage point over the vibrant Rua Garrett. The outdoor tables are a good option for those who want to drink a good wine, a soft drink, a hot chocolate, a coffee or a tea, while enjoying the fresh air. Inside, you will find two rooms that preserve the original atmosphere of the space. In addition to the pastry service, Benard also works as a restaurant. The lunch and dinner menu includes typical Portuguese cuisine and some salads and lighter quiches. But it is in the pastry shop that Benard stands out. A customer favorite has long been the croissant, made from a secret recipe and usually served hot.
