Pap’Açôrda, one of Lisbon’s most iconic restaurants, moved from Bairro Alto to the first floor of Time Out Market. With part of the team from the mythical space came the chandelier, the famous chocolate mousse bowl, the classic dishes of the house, but also many novelties. There had to be an adaptation to a space that is twice as big as the previous one, first and foremost, and make an effort to bring a restaurant born in the 80s to 2016, without this implying a loss of identity or quality. With around 800 square meters divided into two rooms – one for smokers – and two bars, the new Pap’Açôrda has 150 seats and another 25 at the counter. Chef Manuela Brandão continues at the head of the kitchen, for 33 years now. From his hands continue to produce classics such as açordas, rice with giblets and the traditional, yet delicate breaded lamb chops with asparagus. In both bars, rum and tequila cocktails, not forgetting gin, are the bet. In Ribeira, Pap’Açôrda’s kitchen is open all day, so if anyone wants to come at 5 pm to eat rice with cockles and an imperial or some tender pasta pastries with a cocktail, they can do so without any problems. Pap'açorda is located on the 1st floor of Mercado da Ribeira.
