Massa Mãe- Pão Artesanal

/ Benfica e Sete Rios

The flour from its barbel wheat comes from Cadaval, right outside Lisbon, and is the great symbol of this small bakery in Benfica, where everything is in sight, from the oven to the table where the pasta is served. The bareness of the decor leaves space to look at Monsanto, right there in front, and at the buns that still remain on the shelves, at four in the afternoon, almost empty.

    Benfica and Sete Rios

The adjacent districts of Sete Rios and Benfica began to grow as an urban area during the 19th century, based on a rural area occupied mostly by farms and agricultural land. Since then, they have assumed the status of being two of the main residential areas of Lisbon, with a high concentration of services and activities of all kinds, but where the farms and palaces of other times still stand out, now with other uses.
