Jardim Amália Rodrigues
Praças e Jardins / Castilho
Part of the green corridor that connects Parque Eduardo VII to the Monsanto Forest Park, the Amália Rodrigues Garden is a work by landscape architect Gonçalo Ribeiro Telles, inaugurated in 1996 and "renamed" in 2000 in honour of the voice of fado.
Walking along the cobbled paths of the garden we find two statues, by Colombian sculptor Fernando Botero and Master Lagoa Henriques, and a small oasis right in the centre of the city: "the mirror of water". A lake with bar/restaurant and esplanade, which opens up in an invitation to relax and enjoy the calm of nature. In the centre of the garden, a beautiful outdoor stone amphitheatre presents itself as an incredible viewpoint to enjoy the landscape that unfolds down the Avenida da Liberdade to the calmness of the Tejo.
