Palácio Fronteira
Museus e Espaços Culturais / Benfica e Sete Rios
Built between 1671 and 1672, the Fronteira Palace, a peaceful place at the gates of the Monsanto Forest Park, was once a hunting lodge for João Mascarenhas, the 1st Marquis of Fronteira. Nowadays, it functions as a House-Museum which, although still inhabited, has its doors open to those interested in its nooks and crannies, such as the charming gardens and the pleasant library. Besides the regular visits, the Fronteira Palace promotes culture through shows and events.

Zone
Benfica and Sete Rios
The adjacent districts of Sete Rios and Benfica began to grow as an urban area during the 19th century, based on a rural area occupied mostly by farms and agricultural land. Since then, they have assumed the status of being two of the main residential areas of Lisbon, with a high concentration of services and activities of all kinds, but where the farms and palaces of other times still stand out, now with other uses.
