With more than a century of existence and considered a National Monument since 2002; the Ascensor da Bica, better known as Elevador da Bica links Rua de São Paulo to Largo do Calhariz. A unique journey up one of the steepest slopes of Lisbon and with the River Tejo in the background. It is very photogenic and therefore considered one of the most typical "postcards" of Lisbon.

    Bairro Alto

Bohemian is the most natural of adjectives to describe the Bairro Alto, as the area is famous for the nightlife that animates the steep streets of this Lisbon hill, where every door opens to the outside, a bar, a restaurant or a fado house. But the days in the Bairro Alto are equally full of life with an eclectic and creative offer, side by side with the traditional churches and monuments.
