Distopia
Book Shops / São Bento
The name chosen for the bookstore, Dystopia, comes from one of the literary genres with some of the most outstanding works of international literature, namely “1984” by George Orwell, “Brave New World” by Aldous Huxley or “Fahrenheit 451” by Ray Bradbury. The societies described in these fictional universes are anti-utopias, worlds often characterized by dehumanization and totalitarian governments, and were used by several authors as a form of social and political criticism, to draw attention to the decline of real society. Following in the footsteps of these authors, in the Dystopia bookstore, in an apparent contradiction, it is believed that Literature, Music, Culture and the Arts in general are fundamental for a freer society, where knowledge, entertainment and imagination walk together. pair.
