Close to the Church of Nossa Senhora do Amparo, is the historic Chafariz of Benfica. Made up of an enormous wall, it is through its small doors that we have access to a water house located at the back. Although it is currently out of use, the Chafariz of Benfica "carries" years of history and is therefore an unavoidable reference in the Benfica neighbourhood.

Benfica and Sete Rios

The adjacent districts of Sete Rios and Benfica began to grow as an urban area during the 19th century, based on a rural area occupied mostly by farms and agricultural land. Since then, they have assumed the status of being two of the main residential areas of Lisbon, with a high concentration of services and activities of all kinds, but where the farms and palaces of other times still stand out, now with other uses.
