Located in the former Palace of Alverca, the walls that now house Casa do Alentejo guard centuries of history and stories. Founded in 1923 as the Alentejo Guild, this "house" is a cultural space that pays tribute to the Alentejo region. Those who enter are greeted by the inspiring atmosphere that floods the main courtyard in a revivalist style, with arches, windows and tropical plants, typical of an Arab or North African destination. Notes left by the former Magestic Club - the capital's first casino - which in the past was also located at number 58, Rua das Portas de Santo Antão. On the upper floor we find the Restaurant and Tavern of Casa do Alentejo, where you can admire the magnificent tile panels by Jorge Colaço, while enjoying some dishes of the typical gastronomy of the region. Casa do Alentejo often hosts events, poetry recitals and Alentejo traditional singing.

    Liberdade

Avenida da Liberdade was built following the style of the Champs Elysées between 1879 and 1882. It opened up a new era in the urbanisation and expansion of the city to the north and very quickly became the address of choice for high society. This aura of exclusivity accompanies it to the present day and its historic and imposing buildings (such as number 206 where Prada is) are home to five-star hotels, luxury shops and leading companies.
