Open Gardens
The 10th edition of the Jardins Abertos festival is back over two weekends: the 22nd and 23rd; and October 29 and 30. An initiative whose mission is to raise awareness of environmental protection, promoting a positive relationship with nature in an urban context. For lovers of botany, it is a good opportunity to learn more about gardening or sustainability by participating in workshops and guided tours and visiting idyllic green spaces in the city, some of which are not usually open to the public.
In this edition, the Open Gardens include ten new gardens, including the Ajuda Botanical Garden, the Palacete de São Bento Garden or the Estufa Fria. There will also be an opening show on the 21st of October, at Parque Florestal de Monsanto. Participation in the festival is limited, on a first-come, first-served basis and with no need to register. The complete schedule is available on the Open Gardens website.
